KAREN LANDSCAPING SERVICES LTD. was formed in the year 1990. It was registered by the Director John K. Wainaina in 2000 who had by then acquired adequate training and experience as far as landscaping and environmental issues are concerned.From its inception, the company has progressively handled a wide range of projects of all magnitudes ranging from residential compounds, institutions, hospitals, office blocks, hotels among others. It is the firm's policy to work closely with other professionals and to consult the client in any given project to achieve the desired results in the most efficient way. Our work process entails:

  • INCEPTION: Advice the client on the services, duties and fees
    Receive preliminary brief and conduct a Site Analysis
  • PRELIMINARY SKETCH DESIGN: • Analyze the client's requirements
    • Prepare presentable preliminary sketch design drawings with descriptions and illustrations showing spatial organization.
    • Receive client's comments and make necessary amendments
  • SCHEME DESIGN: • Final design consisting of scaled drawings with general specifications indicating precise spatial arrangements and materials
    • 3-Dimensional illustrations.
    • Receive client's approval of final design
  • PRODUCTION OF WORKING DRAWINGS: • Planting plan and specifications
    • Landscape engineering plan,
    • Layout plan
    • Irrigation plan
    • Lighting plan
  • DESIGN DETAILS AND TENDER DOCUMENTS: • Landscape elements construction details
    • Bills of quantities
    • Ensure that drawings and specifications from other consultants tally with the Landscape Architect's working drawings and specifications
  • TENDER ACTION AND CONSTRUCTION: • Preparation of work schedule programme
    • Advice on appointment of site supervisory staff
    • Supply information to contractor to enable him to take possession of the site
  • PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION: • Interpretation of drawings
    • Implementation of designed landscape works on site

J. K. WAINAINA started Karen Landscaping Services about 20 years ago and has been in operation since then. His vast experience has allowed him to handle projects of any magnitude in the areas of landscape design, construction, management and maintenance.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • Do you provide designs so I can do my own landscape installation?

    Because of the amount of time involved in providing a plan, our preference is to only create landscape designs for projects we will be installing. If you are seriously considering our company for your project, our designers will provide a free consultation for your project and then discuss options for design that may exist for your project.

  • Can I look at materials or plants prior to my project being performed?

    We have catalogs of materials and samples of materials available for your viewing. Because we order plants as jobs are scheduled, there is not a location where you can specifically pick and tag plants for your project. We will do our best to select beautiful specimens for your project and your designer will be happy to direct you to images or locations where you can see examples of specific plants.

  • What are the guarantees for materials and plants used?

    We will provide you with detailed information about warranties for materials used on your project. Plants' guaranteed vary for with the species with proper care and watering. Please review the landscape work agreement accompanying your proposal for details.

  • When is my landscape project being performed?

    Delivery times vary throughout the year. Karenscapes will give you an approximate comensmenta and completion time at the time of proposal, that is weather dependent. If you have specific scheduling questions, call our office.
